Calvary Kodokan Okinawan Goju Ryu
Traditional Christ-Centered Karate and Kobudo
Our Mission
To provide for our participants an athletic activity that will encourage them to grow spiritually and physically as they improve their personal physical mental focus and agility.
Kodokan Okinawan Goju Rju
Christ-Centered Traditional Karate
This style of karate is based on hard and soft movements. We teach basic punching, blocking, kicks, throws, katas, and structure paired exercises called bunkai (no free sparring). Self defense is taught in the context of traditional karate training. Our classes can improve focus, strength, agility, endurance, and can help reduce stress. For children, they can assist with building developmental skills as well.
The classes for 3-7 year olds provide a fun environment in which children can become introduced to martial arts. The classes include a variety of activities to improve strength, coordination, agility and focus. Parent participation is required for pre-school age children. Parent participation is recommended for all ages. It is a rare and excellent opportunity for families to spend time with each other while exercising in a safe, family-friendly environment.
